Downtown Center for the Arts

The Downtown Center for the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC is the rebirth of beautiful, historic buildings offering arts education, diverse artistic performances and opportunities for the community to celebrate the City of the Arts.

This adaptive reuse project is a total renovation of the entire building to include new performing arts spaces, more accessible, appealing public galleries, improved arts education areas, an amphitheatre and parking.  For more information on the Arts Council future plans, click this link http://intothearts.com/fundraising/default.asp.

Interior Downtown Center for the ArtsThroughout the new facility, Warco is installing typical plumbing systems, restrooms, storm water piping, and gas piping. 

These installations include: 6 restrooms; 2 handicapped, ADA compliant child’s restrooms; 7 smaller restrooms with water closets or showers, and sinks; acid waste piping for the photo lab and gas piping for 2 clay kilns.

Warco has installed a new domestic water service connection from the city main, with backflowsDowntown Center for the Arts connecting to a new city water meter. 

Additionally, Warco is providing plumbing services for break rooms, training rooms, specially designed sinks and sediment traps for potters, arts stations and a small commercial kitchen.

The Downtown Center for the Arts is scheduled for completion in 2010.
